James Bond Aston Martin Car for sale -- $1.5 million

Would you like to buy a used car from James Bond? Especially one that might cost over a million dollars.

The Aston Martin that featured in the James Bond movies "Goldfinger" and "Thunderball" is expected to sell for up to $2.5 million at a vintage motor car auction in Phoenix, Arizona in January, RM Auctions said.

The 007 Aston Martin DB5 is one of several celebrity cars at the Tennessee museum where it has been since the late 1970s. It is one of four cars commissioned by Eon Productions and used for film, tour and promotional use in the mid-60s.

The car has all the Bond gadgets, including front firing .30 caliber Browning machine guns, a wheel mounted tire slasher, retractable rear bullet-proof screen, radar scanner in the wing mirror, passenger ejector seat, an oil slick ejector and revolving number plates, the press release said.

The Aston Martin is expected to fetch from $1.5 million to $2.5 million at the 7th Annual Vintage Motor Cars in Arizona auction on January 20.

Al Capone's 1928 Cadillac Town Sedan, Model 501, Series 341 A, will also be auctioned. The car was fitted with 6mm (1/4-inch) thick boilerplate panels. Its windshield and windows are equipped with one 25mm thick bulletproof glass and the rear window is specially hinged to slide down into the bodywork to allow Capone's associates to thwart pursuers by any means necessary.

The Cadillac is expected to sell for up to $1 million.

A third car at the sale belonged to US country musician Hank Williams Jr. His 1964 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible is adorned with silver dollar coins, pistols, rifles and a saddle, and is estimated at up to $350,000.
