Two Guinness Book Records for Hindu Temple India

In a rare event member of the main management committee of the Guinness World Records flew down to Ahmedabad to present certificates of two world records created by BAPS, a sub-sect of Swaminarayan. His visit marked the 87th birthday of Pramukh Swami, the head of the BAPS.

Bochasanwasi Akhsar Purushottam Sansthan which is celebrating its centenary has set up a record with its head consecrating as many as 713 temples in five continents in a 26 year span starting April 1971.

This includes its temple in New Delhi which is adjudged as the world's largest comprehensive Hindu temple by the Guinness World Records. This temple was consecrated on November 6, 2005.

Michael Whitty, senior member of the main management committee presented certificates of these two world records to the Pramukh Swami at the venue of centenary celebrations in Chandkheda on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, India.
