World’s Largest Indian Jalebi Situated for World Record

75 inch diameter and 15kg heavy weighted Jalebi create word record at Meghalaya, India. An Indian sweet shop marked its 75th anniversary with a bang when it created the world’s largest jalebi, India recently. The giant jalebi, a pretzel-shaped Indian treat, had a 75 inch diameter and weighed a hefty 15 kg.

Unlike its everyday counterpart which can barely fit the width of a grownup’s palm, this particular jalebi could easily cover the length of the average man.

The folks behind the idea, Delhi Mistan Bhandar, reeled in at least 14 cooks for the event. Between the lots, they managed to roll out, shape and deep fry the snack in a specially made pan.

The treat itself required large quantities of the usual cooking ingredients. Thus, the cooks dished out 50 liters of vegetable oil, 3 kg of flour and 30 liters of sugar syrup.

The achievement made its way to the Limca Book of Records, an Indian group that documented various local achievements.

The mega jalebi event was also part of the Meghalaya’s annual Autumn Festival, a grand affair that highlights the various attractions of the area.
