New world record set at Lake Cumberland

A new world record is set right here in Kentucky, as thousands of boaters showed up on Lake Cumberland this weekend for the world's largest "raft up."
A judge from the Guinness Book of World Records confirmed that 1651 boats were on the lake tied together to achieve the title.
But breaking the record wasn't the only good news for the area.  Organizer Craig Stratton explains, "Oh, it's just wonderful. I mean what most people don't understand is there's so many tourism dollars that come into this area this weekend because of this event. Folks are buying gasoline locally, they're buying food locally, supplies locally. You know it's just really a great event."
The old record was 1453 boats set in North Carolina in 2004.
